Find a Job

Contact a Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) office in your area to sign up for an orientation to learn about the eligibility requirements and services DVR offers. The program offers a variety of services to persons with disabilities to prepare for, get, and keep employment.

The nonprofit Alaska Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired helps people with these disabilities with job preparation and vocational training.

Visit a local Alaska Job Center to search for a job or get information on services offered, including career and skills assessment, resume and application assistance, and job referrals.

Search for jobs on AlaskaJobs. It also has multiple tools to help job seekers with things like choosing a career, creating a resume, or getting additional education or training.

Apply for Benefits

You can apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI):

You can apply for Medicaid, Adult Public Assistance (APA), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and ATAP at the same time by using the DPA combined Application for Services. Submit it to your Division of Public Assistance (DPA) office or email it to hss.dpa.offices@alaska.gov.
